Day 22: Shiny Object
Take a photo of an object that “catches your eye.”
I was headed downtown for this exercise because, as everyone knows, that’s where all the shiny objects are. But this stopped me before I could get there. This object stops me a lot. It’s a logo for a local construction company. For some reason, I have a very strong memory of this shape from my childhood. I can’t remember why. Every time I pass this building, I try to remember, but I can’t.
I didn’t grow up in Knoxville, I grew up in Johnson City, about two hours east of here. Now, my grandfather did have a small business in piping and erecting, so perhaps that’s it. I used to play in his office a lot. But the feeling I get when I look at this logo is an artistic one, like I used to draw it or something. Maybe I did. That was a long time ago.
